The JMU Student Success Center is open to students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Guests are expected to behave appropriately while on the premises. Objectionable behavior that interferes with a safe, pleasant, and productive environment is prohibited.

Guests who fail to comply with SSC policies may be asked to modify their conduct or leave the building. Campus security may be summoned if necessary.

  • Electronic cigarettes, vaporizers and tobacco products cannot be used inside.
  • Hover boards cannot be used or charged.
  • Alcohol is prohibited within the building
  • Bikes must be placed in designated racks before entering building, and locks will be cut if they are locked anywhere else.
  • Skateboards and Longboards cannot be ridden within the building.
  • No running within the building.
  • Open Flames, including candles and incense, are prohibited in these facilities.
  • No tape of any kind is allowed on floors and walls.
  • No posters or banners may be placed outside of the building and in common areas.
  • University posting policy must be followed for both bulletin boards on the first floor.
  • No solicitation, fundraising, or selling of any goods or services in and outside the building.
  • Animals are not allowed inside the building unless they are a documented service animal.
  • Lost and Found items can be claimed/turned in at either the Guest Services Desk on the first floor, or the Epic Service Desk on the fourth floor. They are kept for a minimum 60 days before they will be transferred to Fixed Assets and Surplus Property.
  • Weapons, fireworks, and dangerous items are not allowed within the Student Success Center.

Additionally, if James Madison University is closed for any reason, the Student Success Center will also be closed.
