COVID-19 Sport Clubs Update

At UREC, we know that Sport Clubs are very important to the college experience and we are working hard to be able to create a plan to allow for club activities that can be done safely. Below you will find a link to the Sport Clubs Phased Return to Play Guidelines detailing the approach of returning to play this Fall semester.

Given the plan to reduce campus density, all Clubs will stay in the Red Phase with no practices or travel allowed through September. It is very unfortunate and we understand that is not the best situation for our sport clubs, but we feel this is our best course of action due to our current environment. It is also important to understand that clubs may be allowed to move into a different phase based solely on their type of activity, but club reservations for spaces will not be permitted at this time. This is not a one size fits all scenario.

Please read the guidelines below and contact the Clubs directly for more information about their plans.

About Us

We are a wrestling team comprised of about 20-25 men and have had women show interest in the club this past season. Our club operates and competes from September until the end of March through the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NWCA).

How to Join

We are open to any and all new members. There are no tryouts – simply contact any club member to join, a club officer about official membership and attend the practices.

Time Commitment

We typically practice two to three days per week for about two hours each day and have an open conditioning practice once a week.

There is no mandatory attendance but notification for a missed practice is appreciated.

Dues are typically split between semesters and dependent on the member's commitment to competing.

For competing club members, dues are around $125 per semester and for non-competing members, dues are around $90. Dues fluctuate depending on member turnout and commitment.

Awards, Recognition and Championships

Last year we had two National All-American wrestlers and two National Academic All-Americans with four wrestlers having competed at the National tournament this past March.
