Kessy Mugabo Kayiganwa is the 2026–2027 President of the James Madison University Graduate Student Association and a master's student in Communication and Advocacy. She is a Graduate Instructor for Fundamental Human Communication, an Assistant Speech Coach, and supports research communications through JMU's Office of Research Development. Originally from Rwanda, Kessy brings an international perspective to graduate education, with interests in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, leadership development, and global partnerships. Her work focuses on creating meaningful connections between students, faculty, and external partners while advancing professional growth and inclusive engagement. As a founding member of the Graduate School Advisory Board, she is committed to advocating for graduate students and strengthening graduate education through collaboration, innovation, and student-centered leadership.
