Robbie Higdon is an associate professor in the Middle, Secondary, and Mathematics Education department at James Madison University. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Clemson University and teaches undergraduate courses in general instructional methods for grades 6-12, directs the practicum in secondary education, and supervises secondary education students during field experiences and student teaching. Dr. Higdon serves as the Colleges and Universities chair for Virginia Association of Science Teachers (VAST). In this role, she works to implement opportunities for pre-service/novice educators to engage in professional learning opportunities. In addition, Dr. Higdon has developed and implemented short-term study abroad programs for educators in Belgium, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
