Theme and Activities

This year's theme, "One Tree Many Branches," introduces campers to Abrahamic faiths traditions, their common roots, richness of each tradition, as well as values shared across these faith traditions.

Camp activities include:

  • Music, art and storytelling.
  • Games and recreational activities.
  • Visits to local synagogue, mosque and a church.
  • Time for exploration, questions and discussion.
Counselors and Junior Counselors

Counselors are 18+ year olds who teach art, recreation and music activities, as well as oversee small groups of campers. Counselors serve as mentors and role models to Junior Counselors.

Interfaith Peace Camp offers a Junior Counselor Program for teens 13-18 years old. During camp, Junior Counselors help oversee small groups of campers, assist teachers and help with art, recreation and music activities. Being a Junior Counselor is a great way to be a positive role model for younger campers and to meet new friends.

Snacks and Lunch

Area restaurants and local faith communities donate lunches and we provide healthy snacks each day. If your child has food sensitivities that will prevent them from eating what we can provide, please be sure to pack a lunch.

2019 IPC will be held at JMU’s Memorial Hall, the former Harrisonburg High School. Memorial Hall is located at 395 South High Street. Parking for the Interfaith Peace Camp is available at the C8 lot, next to Memorial Hall.
