Why did you become an ambassador? Because I truly believe ISAT is such a special program. I want to give back to CISE in the same way CISE has given to me. The ISAT department has helped me find my sense of self, given me some of my best friends, and mentors I look up to greatly.

Why did you choose ISAT? I wanted to go down the engineering route, but I also wanted the flexibility to study my niche interests within engineering. I also believe the holistic problem-solving and systems-dynamics approach so deeply intertwined with the curriculum would set me up for success in life and the job force.

What do you enjoy most about your program? I enjoy the family feel of ISAT. It is a smaller department, so you really do know everyone in all your classes, and all your professors not only know your name but know you.

What is your favorite class or project? ISAT 211! The labs are so much fun, and they really give you perspective on everything you buy and create.

Who has been an influential professor, mentor, or advisor? Rebecca Simmons - she has always been very supportive of my academic and personal life; she has taken the time to get to know me on a personal level. I look up to her when I think about her apparent success in a male-dominated field.

Have you had an internship, study abroad, or research experience you'd like to share? I studied abroad and had an internship in Ghana!!

What clubs, student organizations, or activities are you involved in? Alpha Chi Sigma and Society of Women in Engineering

What is something you love to do outside of class? Watch movies and try new food

What is your favorite spot on campus? The Quad

Describe your JMU experience in three words: Vivid, Unique, Colorful

What advice would you give to a prospective student? Say yes to things you wouldn’t normally. Go to that club meeting of the club you’ve never heard of. Go study with a person you’ve met in class once.
