Purpose
The CFI Advisory Council (CFIAC) provides additional faculty perspectives in center operations and programming. This is grounded in the “faculty empowering faculty” model of holistic educational development.
The CFIAC is an advisory body to the Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Success and Executive Director of the Center for Faculty Innovation. Council members assist with understanding JMU culture, identify JMU and community resources, and serve in other capacities as needs are identified.
Composition
The CFIAC comprises representation from each academic college, the JMU Libraries, the faculty senate, and the CFI Assistant Directors (ex officio).
The composition will also prioritize instructional faculty from different career stages and classifications (Part-Time, RTA, and Tenured/Tenure Track). Membership may range from 12-15 people.
Commitment
The council meets twice per semester (fall and spring) and provides insight into faculty needs related to programs, resources, and services offered by the CFI.
Council Membership is a two-year commitment and must be approved by the appropriate AUH and Dean.
