You should choose courses at your current school that satisfy specific general education AND major requirements at JMU. In addition, to be considered a competitive student for admission, you should have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and successfully completed college course work in these core subject areas: English, mathematics, social science and lab science.

- DAN 167 is repeatable for credit (DANC 245 is a 2-credit course at JMU).

Additional Notes:
- The ideal pathway from VCCS to this major is the A.A. in Dance (consult the B.A. Dance Transfer Guide. If your community college does not offer the A.A. in Dance, you may complete an A.A. Liberal Arts degree with the appropriate dance classes listed on the B.A. Dance Transfer Guide).
- Students seeking PreK-12 teaching licensure in dance must complete 19 credits of additional course work in kinesiology, health science, education, psychology and 12 credits of student teaching. It is necessary to be admitted to the teacher education program prior to enrolling in professional education courses. All education students must apply and be admitted to Teacher Education.
