Helpful Hints for Zoom

  • For the best experience possible, if you haven't already done so, we recommend that the day before the session you go to https://jmu-edu.zoom.us and sign in with you JMU eID and password. Doing so at least once "authenticates" you (and the computer you are using) and you should have better luck after that when attending Zoom meetings/ workshops via the provided link.
  • If you have not installed the Zoom desktop app, you may be prompted to do so when joining your first Zoom meeting. Please allow some extra time if this is the case. Be sure to use "Sign In with SSO" found at the right, which will take you to an authentication page. Duo may be required.
  • Feel free to join up to 15 minutes before the session starts.
  • Talent Development will start the workshop with video on and sound off for participants entering the room. You can turn your video off if you prefer.
