The McMillin Center has been supporting the Shenandoah Valley athletic community for over a decade, providing educational outreach and customized sport psychology services.
Our Services
Workshops
Customized workshops are tailored to your team or organization. The McMillin Center team has facilitated workshops on mental toughness, team cohesion, resilience, self-compassion, and athletic identity.
Educational Outreach
The McMillin Center team can provide presentations to your team, university, or organization. These are focused on mental performance or mental health topics related to athletes and coaches.
Team Consulting
The McMillin Center team can work with your team over the course of a season. This usually involves limited in-person or virtual sessions, coach consultations, and opportunities for individual services.
Individual Services
Doctoral student assistants provide individual services for athletes under the supervision of licensed and credentialed professionals. This is provided through JMU's Counseling and Psychological Services Clinic (CAPS).
What The McMillin Center Can Help With
McMillin Center staff are specifically trained in Sport and Performance Psychology and supervised by Certified Mental Performance Consultants (CMPCs). For more information on CMPCs, please visit the Association for Applied Sport Psychology website.
