Brent is Associate Director of Sponsored Programs - Administrative Services. He earned his Ph.D in Classics from the University of Cincinnati and his BA in Religion from the University of Mary Washington. Prior to joining JMU in 2023, his scholarship focused on ancient medicine in the late Roman Empire. He is a native of the Shenandoah Valley and a passionate supporter of research.
