Dr. John Zimmerman is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy as well as the Research Development Associate for the College of Science and Mathematics. He was in the U.S. Foreign Service, serving in Bucharest, Istanbul, Moscow, and in Washington, DC. He later joined SAIC to manage research and development contracts for arms control monitoring equipment in Russia. He worked, subsequently, at the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine, Kiev, focusing on WMD non-proliferation programs in Russia, Ukraine, Central Asia and the Caucasus. He then became a technology broker under contract for the U.S. Office of Naval Research Global, serving in London, Washington, DC, and Prague, responsible for developing and supporting joint research projects between scientists in Eurasia and their colleagues in the US.
