Dr. Jessica Adolino image

 


Professor Adolino received the B.A. in Politics from Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT in 1984 and the Ph.D. in Political Science from the Ohio State University in 1993. She has been at JMU since fall 1994 and teaches Western European politics, comparative public policy and the senior seminar in International Affairs. Professor Adolino was responsible for the creation of the department’s European Union Policy Studies M.A. program and has twice participated in Semester in London program. Her research interests primarily lie in the area of British politics, particularly concerning the participation of ethnic minorities in British political life. She has published a book in this area, titled Ethnic Minorities, Electoral Politics and Political Integration in Britain (Pinter 1998). With Professor Blake, she has completed a textbook, now in its second edition, for Congressional Quarterly Press, Comparing Public Policies that examines public policy in the advanced industrialized societies.
