Thank you for your interest in joining Fraternity Life at James Madison University! While we are excited to get to know you, we also want to let you know that there are over 350 active student clubs and organizations at JMU that offer an equally beneficial experience. Recruitment Registration

Any students interested in joining an IFC fraternity must Register for IFC Recruitment online. Fall Registration will open at 5pm on Monday, June 1st.  Please email fsl@jmu.edu if you have any issues! 

                                    Registration closes at 11:59pm on September 10th!

Meet The Greeks

Students are highly encouraged to come interact and learn about our FSL Community on the Greek Row! Come make some early connections and learn about upcoming chapter events. See the community come together to have fun and welcome you to JMU!

IFC Orientation 

September 6th - 12:00pm-1:15pm; & 1:45pm-3:00pm - IFC Rush presentation - Grafton Stovall Theatre - 2 timeslots, please only attend 1!!

Chapter Recruitment Events

Chapters will host their own recruitment events September 7th- September 11th. Following open recruitment events chapters will host interviews September 11th-14th. 

Bid Extension

Thursday, September 17th, 2026.

On this day, Fraternities will be extending invitations to join their chapter between the hours of 4pm and 8pm. Each fraternity will give instructions on how they will be extending bids. Please be aware, no fraternity should be asking you to accept or decline a bid on the spot, nor should they do anything that would prevent another fraternity from extending a bid to you.

 

**If a chapter does not invite you back for a formal interview, then you will receive notification via email from our team. If you make it to an interview, but do not receive a bid to join then you will receive a notification via phone call from our team.**

 

Warning: Unrecognized Organizations

Unrecognized organizations are former fraternities or sororities that have lost their recognition from both James Madison University and their national headquarters due to disciplinary action. Unrecognized organizations are not advised by the university, are unable to use campus resources, and are prohibited from participating in Fraternity and Sorority Life events. These organizations usually are not recognized by an Inter/National headquarters and do not follow the same standards and policies our recognized fraternities are held to.
