Transfer 1787 August Orientation

Why 1787?

During August of 1787, James Madison and his fellow delegates met in Philadelphia to rewrite the Articles of Confederation. Fifty-five delegates, four months, and one constitution later, our country was never the same, and after orientation in August of 2016, neither will you!

What is 1787?

1787 August Orientation is a three day long adventure full of once-in-a-lifetime events that will help prepare you for the academic year, meet new friends, and discover what it feels like to be a member of the JMU community! 1787 is all about introducing you to your new college home and connecting you to resources that will prepare you to be a successful student. Starting on day #1 you will meet your Transfer Orientation Peer Adviser, or TOPA, who will help you prepare for your first day of classes. Below is a highlight of some events waiting for you in August!
