Spring Welcome is designed to help you feel prepared, connected, and excited for your JMU experience. You’ll meet fellow Dukes, learn about campus resources, and get the tools you need to start the semester with confidence. We can’t wait to welcome you to the JMU community!
Friday, January 16 - Schedule of Events
11:30 a.m. - Check-In
After you park in the Mason Street Parking Deck, and come grab your materials for the day in the Student Success Center. Check-in for Spring Welcome is required.
Lunch and Resource Fair
Enjoy a catered lunch and connect with campus departments that will help you navigate JMU.
University Welcome
Campus administrators will officially welcome you to the JMU community and help to prepare you for the JMU learning experience.
Academic Advising
You will have the chance to interact and learn from your academic advisor. Meetings take place based on your academic major.
Becoming a Duke
Learn about the expectations of being a part of the JMU community while learning about resources that can aid you in your transition.
Connections
Coming to college provides opportunities to connect with new people and experiences. This session focuses on building the skills to make meaningful connections.
What's Next?
Transition is a process, not an event. Learn about what you will experience in the coming days, and additional resources like Campus Safety. You will also receive information on how to complete a survey about your Spring Welcome Part 1 experience.
