Native American Heritage Month Celebration
Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Noon - 1:30 p.m., CMSS/SOGIE Suite
We will host a Native American Heritage Month Kick Off on November 1, from Noon - 1:30 p.m. in CMSS SOGIE as a way to celebrate and honor Native Americans in the United States. We honor and recognize that we are currently on Indigenous Siouan, Algonquian, and Haudenosaunee communities who lived here for generations. We will host a catered lunch in CMSS and all students, staff & faculty are welcome to join!

Join the Center for Multicultural Student Services in celebrating Native American Heritage Month at JMU with Native American Heritage Month Speaker Eva Maria Lewis! Eva Maria Lewis is an Afro Indigenous, self-titled socio-cultural architect, award-winning human rights advocate, organizer, writer, and artist from the South Side of Chicago. Grounded in empowerment and Native American ancestry, Eva Maria's work is a vessel for transformation, spiritual discovery, healing and wellness. She has written and contributed 10 published pieces on racial justice and the experiences of Black and Brown women.
