The Inter-Cultural Greek Council
About:
The Inter-Cultural Greek Council (ICGC) represents JMU's cultural-based but not exclusive greek letter organizations, which include our Black Greek Letter Organizations, Latinx Fraternities and Sororities, and Asian-Interest Fraternities and Sororities. ICGC serves as the governing body for the 13 organizations we have chartered on this campus. These organizations have a rich history and legacy rooted in brotherhood/sisterhood, service, friendship, advocacy, and access.
I.C.G.C. governs organizations from the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations, Inc. (NALFO), and National APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander & Desi-American) Panhellenic Association (known as NAPA). Everyone is welcomed to pursue membership in these organizations. You do not have to be from these cultures or Diaspora's to join, however you should have an interest in the organization and culture.
N.P.H.C. represents the traditionally African American Divine 9 organizations: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
NALFO represents the traditionally Laxtinx Greek Letter Organizations: La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc., Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Incorporada, and Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc.
NAPA represents the traditionally Asian Pacific Islander & Desi-American Greek Organizations: alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority, Inc. and Lambda Phi Epsilon International Fraternity, Inc.
