Total Workshop Time: 3 hours
Next Available Session: Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 9:00am to 12:00pm
Pre-requisites: None
Location: Wine-Price Building
Description: Unlike the private sector, public employees cannot rely on an organization’s profits or other financial performance indicators to increase compensation. As a state agency, JMU is subject to both the political process, cost of living, regulations, and other market forces that affect salary increases, bonuses and benefits. However, managers and supervisors should know what opportunities exist to address compensation for their employees. This session will identify available pay practices and the responsibilities of the supervisor when addressing compensation.
