What We Do

Madison Historians is open to all students interested in history, regardless of academic program or year. The club provides out-of-classroom history-related experiences for students as well as fun, fellowship, and service.

Madison Historians volunteers with Montpelier. In past semesters, they have worked with the archaeologists, dug up plants, cleaned and cleared sites, and moved furniture. Additionally, Madison Historians has also collaborated with Montpelier’s media team to create promotional materials.

Every semester, Madison Historians takes a trip to a place of historical interest. Past trips have been to presidential houses, museums, and Harpers Ferry. These take place on Saturdays, and the club arranges transportation and tickets.

Every semester, they offer social event opportunities, like movie nights, arcade trips, and hangouts. In the fall, they hold a Student Versus Faculty Jeopardy night, and in the spring, a birthday party for James Madison and an event with history-themed costuming.
