CMAA is a student organization that focuses on current issues within the club management industry.

CMAA is a professional club which seeks to get students acquainted with the club management profession while building skills to set them on the path of leadership. JMU CMAA focuses on helping students accomplish this through general body meetings, industry professional guest speakers, country and city club tours, networking opportunities and Student and World Conferences. The core values of CMAA are education and networking, two vital instruments in assisting students to have a competitive edge in the hospitality industry.

Eta Sigma Delta

Eta Sigma Delta LogoESD recognize the scholastic and professional achievements of students in the academic majors of Hospitality Management, located within the Hart School of Hospitality, Sport, and Recreation Management.

Eta Sigma Delta is an international honors society that recognizes exceptional academic achievement among hospitality management students. Eta Sigma Delta is administered by the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (International CHERIE), the leading international association devoted to hospitality and tourism education.

Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI)

JMU HSMAI LogoThe purpose of HSMAI is to introduce students to HSMAI and relate how membership can enhance their future professional careers; to grow and strengthen the student membership; to enhance the brand value of HSMAI within the academic community; and to build funds from events and through fundraisers to support student travel and participation in professional chapter or headquarter sponsored events.

National Society of Minorities in Hospitality

National Society of Minorities in Hospitality LogoNSMH is a student organization that explores the issues, challenges, and opportunities for minorities in the mega-industry.

NSMH strives to educate in order to aid in the recruitment, retention, support, and advancement of minority students in the hospitality industry. We build and maintain relationships between hospitality professionals and minority students in ways that encourage lifelong commitment to the organization. The JMU Chapter of NSMH strives to focus on all areas of the dynamic hospitality industry, offering members networking, professional development, service, and leadership opportunities. We encourage each other as we expand our growth and knowledge of the hospitality industry.

Professional Convention Management Association

PCMA Student Chapter LogoPCMA, open to all majors, is a student organization that provides both educational and social programs to the HTM major.

The James Madison University Student Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has become a well-known organization for students interested in event and meeting planning in the hospitality industry. Our organization has grown from just 10 members in 2004 to almost 100 at the beginning of this semester. PCMA is open to any and all majors, but the current membership is primarily Hospitality Management and Sport & Recreation Management majors. As our membership grows, we strive to accommodate the wants and needs of all of our members through our service events and social events as well as being actively involved with our local chapter in the DC area.
