Application Deadline

Admission to the certificate program requires that applicants have completed at least a bachelor's degree.

Applications for admission to the program will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, but must be received by December 1 for Spring admission and April 1 for Summer admission.

James Madison University is in the process of discontinuing the eLearning Certificate program; therefore, this program may not be available for new students after summer 2024. If you are interested in the eLearning Graduate Certificate, please consider our Educational Technology Certificate which has many similarities.

Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university
  • Undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or higher
Online Application
International Applicants

International Graduate Information

International applicants are welcome to apply, however, this program is offered online only. Visas to study in the United States can only be issued for primarily in-person programs. A visa cannot be issued for programs that are primarily online.
