Key Faculty Support Initiatives

  • Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Fund
    Recognizing the vital role of our adjunct faculty, this fund offers financial assistance aimed at enhancing professional development and teaching effectiveness. The fund is offered over three cycles per year.

  • Faculty Success Fund
    This fund provides financial assistance to support faculty in improving and developing a course or instructional project.

  • Provost's Award for Excellence in Part-Time Teaching
    This annual award honors two JMU part-time faculty members or teaching teams who demonstrate exceptional commitment to student learning and innovative teaching practices at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

  • Support for All New Faculty
    Orients new faculty to the institution, connects new faculty with resources that support their work and work-life balance, helps new faculty become part of the academic community at JMU, and engages new faculty in comprehensive career planning that encompasses all areas of their work
