How to Apply
  1. Completely fill out the APPLICATION FORM and pay a $60 application fee. To successfully submit the application, you will need to upload legible copies of your transcripts, a current resume, a 250-word personal statement, a self-reported GMAT/GRE score (if available), and supply email addresses of those writing recommendations for you.
  2. To be accepted into the MBA program and fully admitted, your official transcripts or credential evaluations, and official test scores (if required) must be sent to and verified by The Graduate School.

Admission to the information security concentration is based on a combination of the following: criteria

  • Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score
  • Overall undergraduate grade point average. Please note: an undergraduate degree in business is not required to apply to the JMU MBA Program. *
  • Resume citing work experience
  • Two letters of recommendation supporting the candidate's application for graduate school
  • Minimum of two years of full-time work experience

Ideal applicants will have an undergraduate GPA > 3.0 and a GMAT score > 530.

* The university encourages applicants with degrees in all major fields of study from accredited institutions. No specific undergraduate courses are required; however, students with non-business baccalaureates are required to complete the following three prerequisite courses:

  • Financial Accounting
  • Statistics
  • Economics (Microeconomics is preferred; Macroeconomics is acceptable)
Deadline

Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. All applications submitted at least 4 weeks before a semester begins will be considered until the cohort is full. 

Tuition 

Tuition is $900 per credit hour. The cost per course is $2,700. The total cost for the degree is $37,800.
