The Council for Inclusive Excellence (CIE) aims to strengthen the sense of community, which is one of the College of Business’s core values. We do this by planning, organizing and engaging in programming that helps all CoB students, faculty and staff feel welcome, included, seen, respected and valued. Examples of activities include the “Postcards for Veterans” event, which takes place annually around Veterans Day; a Mentoring Panel to help faculty members become more effective mentors; weekly writing workshops; etc.

Council members are drawn from the ranks of faculty and staff.

Student organizations

The CIE also works with student organizations that are committed to our shared community values. The College of Business student groups include the Black College of Business Club, the Global Commerce Club, the Student Diversity Council, Association of Latino Professionals for America and the Women in Business Club. The Hart School of Hospitality, Sport & Recreation Management student groups include: the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality and the Women in Sports and Recreation Management Club.
