Center Innovator

Mary Binder is a second-year Instrumental Music Education major and violist from Lorton, Virginia. Mary is an advocate for making music education equitably available to all populations. Her research interests include cultural engagement, political activism, inclusivity, and gender equality in music. Currently, Mary is conducting a research project concerning sexual misconduct in United States music schools in collaboration with Thomas Hassett, and will continue to pursue future projects through the CIME. Mary is a frequent traveler and plans to study internationally following the completion of her undergraduate studies.
