This faculty community explores ideas and opportunities related to sustainable interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching, service, wellness and well-being, scholarship, or other elements of faculty work.

Building Connections

In particular, we seek to build bridges between fields that have been historically distanced in academia (due to disciplinary, physical, or other barriers), such as the sciences and the humanities. However, we welcome faculty from all disciplines and areas of interest. We focus on the theme of “imagining just futures.”

This community stems from an ongoing collaboration by an interdisciplinary group of faculty through a national grant, as detailed in the Teaching Toolbox, "Creating Space Through Pedagogy."

Some of our core values include:

  • A central focus on imagining just futures
  • Advocacy for interdisciplinarity and collaborative teaching
  • Intellectual humility
  • Building community and connection
  • Openness to co-creating pedagogy with each other and our students
