Thank you for your interest in becoming a
College of Visual and Performing Arts Student Ambassador!  

CVPA Student Ambassadors are Art, Design, Dance, Music, Theatre or Musical Theatre majors/double majors who represent the college and university to prospective students.  We are now accepting applications for activities that will take place in March and April 2022.  The time commitment will be between 5 - 20 hours, depending on your availability and the needs of the program.  The majority of the program activities will center around our CHOICES+: JMU Artists' Celebration event taking place in April 2022.  As a CVPA Student Ambassador, these are the types of activities you could be involved in:

CHOICES+ Roles:

• Designated Dukes: serve as a point of contact throughout the event.
• Mix and Mingle: interact with prospective students in a less formal setting, with games and music.
• CVPA Concert/Art Show: a virtual show featuring CVPA students, faculty, and alumni.
• Evening Presentation: talk to prospective students and their families at a formal virtual event with other students and faculty members.
• Tours and Panels: give tours or speak on a panel regarding your School's programs.

By joining this program, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students deciding where to attend college, and instill your love of JMU Arts in the next generation of Dukes.  It's a chance to explain why you chose JMU and help others who are making that decision too.  This program counts towards volunteer hours and ambassadors will be selected by application.  Not to mention, it's a lot of fun!  

If this sounds like a program that would suit your interests and schedule, please fill out the application and the CVPA Recruitment Office will be in touch with you.  The application should take 10 - 20 minutes to complete and asks for two CVPA faculty/staff references (not letters of recommendation). For those students who have served as CVPA Student Ambassadors before, there is an expedited application process (5 minutes).
