  1. How can I save copies of sent messages to my 'Sent' folder that resides on the e-mail server?

    You will need to create a rule in Outlook that will perform this action for you.  To create the rule, follow these steps:

    1. Launch Outlook 2002/2003.
    2. In the menu bar, click on Tools, Rules Wizard.
    3. In the Rules Wizard window, click on New.
    4. Select Start from a blank rule and click on Check messages after sending.  Click on Next.
    5. Check the box next to uses the form name form.  This condition now appears in the rule description box below.  Click on form name in the rule description box.
    6. In the Choose Forms window, click on the drop down arrow next to Personal Forms and select Application Forms.
    7. In the list of forms shown, click the Message form and then click Add.  Click on the Close button.
    8. Back in the Rules Wizard window, click Next.
    9. Check the box next to move a copy to the specified folder.  This action now appears in the rule description box below.  Click on specified in the rule description box.
    10. Click on your Sent folder that resides in your JMU e-mail account and then click OK.
    11. Click Finish.
    12. Make sure the box is checked next to the rule so that Outlook knows to use the rule.


  2. How can I see whom an e-mail was sent to in the 'sent' folder in Outlook 2000 when the 'to' headers are not displaying?

    This is often noted by those that use both Outlook and Webmail.

    1. While viewing the IMAP folder 'sent', you will need to download all items to refresh the folder.
    2. In the menu bar, click on Tools, Download, All items


  3. How can I see whom an e-mail was sent to in the 'sent' folder in Outlook 2002/XP/2003 when the 'to' headers are not displaying?

    This is often noted by those that use both Outlook and Webmail.

    1. Launch Outlook 2002/2003
    2. In the menu bar, click on Tools, options,
    3. On the 'Mail Setup' tab, Select 'Send/Receive' button
    4. Under the Group Name, hi-light 'All Accounts'
    5. Click on 'Edit' button
    6. Verify under accounts that your JMU IAMP account is selected
    7. Click on the + beside the Inbox
    8. Click the box beside 'sent' folder
    9. Click the radio button for 'Download item description only'
    10. Click 'OK' button, click 'close', click 'OK' button
    11. Perform a send and receive
