The IT-Telecom Office provides monthly billing.  Telecom charges will appear on the Departmental Usage Report and are sent to the Department Billing Contact.  Telecom billing will include; JMU Telephone Charges, Cellular Charges, Conference Call Charges, Cable TV Charges…just to mention a few.

How do I get a copy of a previous Telecom Departmental Usage Report?
First, you must have departmental budget authority to request a copy of a report. To request a copy, please send email to telecom@jmu.edu. Please include your department name, department number, the date of the report that you would like to receive, the amount (if you know it) and whether you would like to receive a summary or detailed report. The report will be sent to you via email.

How do I add a new department and department ID number?
First, you must have departmental budget authority to add the new department. To add a new department, please send email to telecom@jmu.edu. Please list the new department name, the department ID number, and the billing contact name. For the billing contact, please include phone number, MSC code and JMU email address.

How do I move Telecom services from one department ID to another (for budget purposes)?
First, you must have departmental budget authority to move services from one department to another. To request a department ID move, please send email to telecom@jmu.edu. Please include the service name, service number, department name/ID the service is moving from, department name/ID the service is moving to, and the date the change should occur. If services for an entire department are moving, listing individual services is not necessary. Simply request to move all services from one department to another.

I have a question regarding a charge on my Telecom Departmental Usage Report. How do I find out what the charge is for?
First, you must have departmental budget authority to request information regarding specific charges. To ask about a charge, please send email to telecom@jmu.edu. Please include the subscriber name, subscriber number, or service number, date of report, and the amount.

How do I request call detail for a particular service number?
First, you must have departmental budget authority to request call detail. To request call detail, please send email to telecom@jmu.edu. Please include the subscriber name, subscriber number, and a date range for detail. A call detail report will be emailed to you.

How do I change a departmental billing contact for a particular department?
First, you must have departmental budget authority to request change. To remove the old contact and add a new contact, please send email to telecom@jmu.edu. Please include the department name, department ID and old department contact. To add the new contact, please include contact name, phone number, MSC code and JMU email address.

How do I request international access on my JMU telephone?
First, someone with budget authority in your department has to request this service. If you have budget authority, you may make this request. To request international access, please send email to telecom@jmu.edu. Please include subscriber name, subscriber number, department name and department number. A work order will be submitted and your phone will be programmed for international access. You will be contacted when the service is active.
