Preventing Lockouts When Changing Your e-ID Password

Important:  Please close all applications before changing your JMU e-ID password.   Once your password has been changed, please restart all computers attached to the JMU network (wired and wireless). This will ensure that your computer/applications will not try to use your previously stored e-ID password and lock you out of your JMU e-ID account (and hence lock you out of any applications that use your JMU e-ID and password for authentication).
Faculty, staff, affiliates and student employees:
Additionally, after rebooting, log back into your computer(s) and immediately change your password in any application/device which may store your old password, such as mobile devices connected to Exchange, to prevent your JMU e-ID account from being locked out.
