For PC users, Internet Explorer is a commonly used browser. However, it has some features that are not readily known.
CTRL-N
Use a new browser window without having to navigate to re-launch Internet Explorer.
CTRL-W
Close the current window.
F5
Refresh the page. It basically is like telling the browser to reload the page "from scratch", as opposed to from cache.
F11
Full-screen view. Essentially, it takes the menu bar, the URL field where you enter web addresses, and other items, off the screen, and leaves essential navigational buttons. To return to the original view (with the menu, URL field, etc.), press F11 again.
ALT-D
Highlights the URL field (where you enter web addresses).
CTRL-O
This brings up the Open dialog box for browsing to another Web site.
Backspace or ALT-Left Arrow
This is the same as choosing the Back button.
Shift-Backspace or ALT-Right Arrow
This is the same as clicking the Forward button.
CTRL-ENTER
Automatically inserts www. before what you type and .com after what you type in the address field. If you type mysite in the address field and then do Ctrl-Enter, Internet Explorer changes it to www.mysite.com.
Happy browsing!
