How do I get an account?
There are several people who serve as contacts
for EMPAC account creation depending on which area you are working
with.

The above people approve the creation of the account for
their given area. Then they fax a form to the Accounts Team, (upstairs in
Frye) who then create the account for them.
How do I connect to
EMPAC?
You access EMPAC normally through the NAL. This is setup by
Network Services after the proper forms have been filled out, the account
has been created and Network Services has added the new user to the group
that gets the icon delivered. What this means is that the icon will be
delivered inside the Novel Application Launcher window. If they closed the
window when they booted to the desktop, they will not have access to the
EMPAC icon. They will need to run nal from the run line to reload
the window that contains the applications they are authorized to
run.
EMPAC 8.5 Installation:
1. Close all open applications
2. Click Start, JMU Apps, Oracle, Oracle Client 8.1.6
3. Repeat Step 2
4. When done, Reboot
5. Click Start, JMU Apps, EMPAC 85, EMPAC 8.5
6. When done, Reboot
Known Issues with EMPAC Oracle Install and Peoplesoft:
If PeopleSoft is installed after the Oracle 8.1.6 Client, then the Start/JMU Apps/Oracle/Oracle Client 8.1.6 needs to be run again. This should only be necessary when PeopleSoft is Installed/Verified on systems that are running the new Oracle 8.1.6 client.
