Macintosh OS X Mail 1.3.9 (v619) Tutorial

Checking the Spelling in a Message

When creating a NEW message in OS X Mail, you can access spell checking options by clicking on Edit, then Spelling.

The spell checking feature works in a similar manner to other spell checking tools. After clicking Spelling... as shown above, you can Ignore, Guess, Find Next, Correct, Forget, and Learn (add to dictionary) words in order to personalize your OS X Mail experience.

To set Mail to check spelling as you type, go to Mail, then Preferences, then Composing. Select Check spelling as I type. If you create a new message, you can also go to Edit, then Spelling, then Check Spelling As I Type.
