There are a variety of on-campus resources and in the community that can help you. You are not alone when it comes to helping a student in distress. Use any of the resources listed below.
In Crisis
After-Hours Crisis Line

JMU has partnered with TimelyMD for students to have access to virtual mental health and well-being services for free through TimelyCare. Students do not need insurance and do not need to visit the JMU Counseling Center to access TimelyCare services.
On Campus
Students, university personnel, community members, or family members can submit a Care Referral online about a student they are concerned about through the Madison Cares program.
Confidential service for students who have experienced sexual violence, dating violence, or stalking. Provides assistance connecting to law enforcement and other on-campus and off-campus resources--including assistance with safety planning, protective orders, and accompaniment to reporting, medical, court, and support resources.
