Rationale
- To provide a safety net for students who are unable to enroll in immediately necessary classes during advance registratio
- To create a transparent process that distributes available class seats and requires accountability from students for their academic schedules. This distribution of seats prioritizes nearest graduation term and earned credits.
Procedure
- Students who are unable to enroll should join the waitlist for the needed course.
- Course waitlists will be reviewed and prioritized in the following manner:
- Immediate need in light of reasonable target graduation date
- Seniority (as determined by credit hours)
- Remaining requirement options
- Student Center Permission will be awarded to the student via email and will have an expiration date for that permission. It is the student’s responsibility to enroll/use the permission by the expiration date.
Exceptions
- This policy does not apply to practicum or internship classes.
- This policy does not apply to any courses outside of the Hart School (HM and SRM). Please contact individual departments for information on their override policies.
