Application Deadline

The application will open August 1. March 15 is the deadline to be guaranteed consideration for admissions. Thereafter, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through April 7th or until all seats are filled.

Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

Personal Statement - should be in 50% Spanish and 50% English - explaining why you are pursuing a Master of Education with a concentration in Spanish Language and Culture for Educators

Video - Porqué quiere obtener esta maestría? (no more than 2 minutes) This is optional.

Two letters of recommendation

Also required by the program

An officially accredited report of *B2 Spanish level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) or Spanish as a native language or a Bachelor's degree in Spanish

*If you have another test that shows a B2 Spanish level, please contact the Program Director (Diana Meza - mezadx@jmu.edu) to make sure it is valid. Some accredited tests are DELE, CELU, BULATS, and SIELE.
