Re-entry to a graduate program and the University following a Leave of Absence
Submit the Graduate Student Intent to Enroll form to The Graduate School if you meet the following criteria:
- You were a graduate student when you withdrew from your program and the university.
- You enrolled for at least one graded semester at JMU (including withdrawals.)
- You left JMU and your graduate program in good standing.
- You are within the time limit for completion of the graduate program (6 years for Masters or Ed.S.; 8 years for Doctorate), which includes courses taken when you first began the program.
If you wish to return to a graduate program following Academic Dismissal, you must reapply to that program through standard admission procedures after the one-year waiting period.
Decisions regarding re-entry to a graduate program following a Leave of Absence are at the discretion of the graduate program. Re-entry without reapplication is not guaranteed.
