Alessia Novello joined the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) in August of 2026 as a Finance & Accounting Graduate Assistant. In her role, she works closely with the Associate Director of Operations to guide short-term study abroad programs and support the CGE’s financial operations and budget management. She is responsible for reviewing program budgets, tracking expenditures, verifying transactions, and assisting directors.

Alessia received her B.B.A. in Accounting from James Madison University and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Accounting (M.S.A.) at JMU while preparing for the CPA exam. Prior to joining CGE, she completed an internship with Deloitte and will return to the firm full-time in New Jersey following the completion of her master's program.

Alessia has spent many summers traveling to Italy to visit family, which fuels her appreciation for international travel and cross-cultural experiences.  In her free time, Alessia enjoys playing and watching soccer, movie nights with friends, and exploring scenic hiking trails around the JMU and Harrisonburg area.
