Rachel studied Economics and Sociology in South Korea and joined short-term cultural and language programs in the Philippines, the UK, and Australia, where she also completed an internship. Her love for travel took her to over 15 countries during school breaks.

After graduation, she worked as a stock market trader before moving to the U.S., where she studied accounting and worked with several NGOs as a bookkeeper. Since settling in Harrisonburg in 2014, she’s been actively involved with student organizations at JMU, sharing her experiences as an international resident and building meaningful connections.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family — her golf-loving husband Calvin, gymnast daughter Sarah, soccer-playing son Jonathan, their food-loving dog George, and their shy bunny, Bunn Bunn.
