Karolina Harrington joined the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) in February 2026, bringing over ten years of experience in K–12 education and five years in project management. In her role as a Student Support Specialist, she advises students on selecting programs that align with their academic goals and personal interests, and helps them plan for a successful study abroad experience. She also communicates with students, parents, faculty, and staff about various aspects of studying abroad and the programs CGE offers.

Originally from Poland, Karolina earned her B.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language and her M.A. in Language and Literature. She has spent more than a decade working with inner-city youth and immigrant populations across Virginia, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina. An educator at heart, she still keeps in touch with her students and is proud of their success.

In her free time, Karolina enjoys traveling, staying active outdoors, spending time with friends, and volunteering. She is involved with JMU’s Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) and is passionate about supporting her local community.
