Welcome to the Cohen Center for the Humanities!

The Cohen Center for the Humanities, housed in the College of Arts and Letters, serves all members of the JMU community. Our mission is to advance and advocate for interdisciplinary humanistic inquiry and we hope to serve as the university’s foremost facilitator of interdisciplinary humanities research and inquiry. We do this by awarding scholarships to graduate students from underrepresented groups or first-generation college students, providing travel grants to support graduate student travel for presentations, creating innovative programming, and by collaborating with others on campus.

If you have questions about the center, please contact the director of The Cohen Center for the Humanities:

Dr. Michael J. Klein
Director
Associate Professor of Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication
