Dr. Campbell has over 15 years of combined experience in assessment, education research, and teaching. Most recently, Dr. Campbell served as a Professor of Psychology at Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC). In this role, she taught classes, led the Psychology Specialization, acted as Cluster Lead for assessment of the Social and Behavioral Sciences, coordinated and mentored adjunct faculty, and served on a number of governance committees in both volunteer and elected positions. Her primary contribution to governance had been to the Research and Assessment Committee. Dr. Campbell has represented BRCC for a variety of state-level efforts among Virginia’s Community Colleges to articulate learning outcomes and improve transferability for the psychology curriculum, including leading the writing team for the statistics and research methodology sequence. Although teaching and institution-based governance have been Dr. Campbell’s focus during her career at BRCC, she has published and reviewed peer-reviewed journal articles and participated in national and local conferences in roles including presenter, reviewer, chair, and discussant. Prior to teaching at BRCC, Dr. Campbell conducted educational research for five years. Dr. Campbell directed and contributed to a variety of educational research projects as a Senior Scientist in HumRRO’s Educational Policy Impact Center. Dr. Campbell’s work at HumRRO included instrument development, validity studies, program evaluation, alignment studies, survey research, data file management, quantitative (SPSS, Excel) and qualitative data analysis, and preparing technical reports for a variety of audiences. Prior to working at HumRRO, Dr. Campbell’s experience included research and consultation in post-secondary education at James Madison University's Center for Assessment and Research Studies and assisting with evaluation of a Teacher Quality Enhancement grant. Dr. Campbell also taught a Business Statistics course at James Madison University.
