A program for new Pell-recipient students to JMU
Join other new students to JMU in a new bridge program that helps you ease the transition to James Madison University while meeting new friends, engaging faculty and peer mentors, and exploring the campus community.
The PIV Bridge program is a 2.5 day experience where you move-in early to campus, start learning in a college classroom, get famliar with the campus layout, and begin using campus resources. Getting a head start on college basics can help you start your JMU career and fall semester successfully!
PIV Bridge Details
Who: Any incoming in-state JMU student already recieiving a Pell grant; all majors are eligible (50 student limit)
What: 2.5 day academic preparation & transition program
When: Aug 19-21, 2026
Where: On the JMU campus
