MAC Wireless PrintinG Instructions

The following instructions assume that you are using Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard or newer.

 

Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.

 

Select Print & Fax from System Preferences

Click the plus icon to add a printer

Select Advanced from the toolbar.  If the Advanced button is not available in the toolbar.  Read the instructions for how to add it, then return to these instructions.

Fill in the form as follows, then click Add.

  • Type: LPD/LPR Host or Printer
  • Enter a URL from the following choices:
      LabPrint Black & White
    		  lpd://labremoteprint@labprint.jmu.edu/LabPrintBW  
      LabPrint Color
    		  lpd://labremoteprint@labprint.jmu.edu/LabPrintColor
      Music Library Copier/Printer  lpd://labremoteprint@labprint.jmu.edu/MusicLibBW
  • Enter a descriptive Name and Location.
  • Print Using: Generic PostScript Printer

* Documents printed to LabPrint wireless printers may be retrieved from most general use labs and from the Carrier & East Campus Libraries.
