Jared Featherstone
Jared Featherstone is a Professor in the department of Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies at James Madison University. He engages in teaching and scholarship related to writing, selfhood, attention, personal technology, and mindfulness. He has completed mindfulness teacher certification through both the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults, an evidence-based program for teaching mindfulness to college students and Soundstrue’s Mindfulness Teacher Certification Program in partnership with the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley. He is a member of the International Mindfulness Meditation Teachers Association.

Sri Upadhyay is an Associate Professor of Psychology at James Madison University. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and English from Kent State University, and her M.S. in Psychology as well as Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Binghamton University. She teaches courses in Cognitive Psychology, Attention, and the Psychology of Language. Her research focuses on understanding the cognitive processes that inform attention, reading, memory, language, and discourse processing. She also has a special research interest in digital discourse and computer-mediated communication, specifically, text message comprehension.
