TD2665

Note: This workshop is capped at 65 participants.

Total Workshop Time: 3 Hours

Pre-requisites: None

Description:

What does it mean to be a “citizen of the world” today, and how does it impact you in your job and in your daily interactions?

It goes beyond merely acknowledging cultural differences. In reality, it means you are able to adapt your behavior to conform to new cultural contexts without losing your authentic self in the process. To do so Andy Molinsky, the author of Global Dexterity states that we must recognize and acknowledge the wide array of cultural differences found in 6 dimensions:

  • Directness
  • Enthusiasm
  • Assertiveness
  • Self-Promotion
  • Formality
  • Personal Expressiveness

In this workshop, we will explore these dimensions and how they may present themselves as you interact with those around you.

International dishes will also be provided in this interactive and engaging session.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss differences (and similarities) in dimensions covered in Andy Molinsky’s book Global Dexterity.
  • Identify ways that dimensions may present themselves in the workplace.
  • Develop ways to consider and adapt to differences in the dimensions.
