Description:

This workshop examines inclusion through the lens of belonging and why belonging is critical to creating an engaged and productive workforce. It offers specific actions to encourage belonging at work and support JMU’s value to be an inclusive community that values the richness of all individuals and perspectives.

Participants will be guided through a series of questions and exercises that will explore what belonging means to them, and actions that they can take to encourage belonging.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand why belonging at work is critical for creating an inclusive community that values the richness of all individuals and perspectives
  • Offer clear actions on how belonging can be encouraged at JMU and beyond
  • Practice decision making (individually and in small groups) that considers Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in creating community
