Dirron Allen serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Development and Community Building. He provides leadership and support for the following departments: JMU VALOR, the Office of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices, the Office of Student Life, and Student Support Resources and Services (which oversees the Center for Multicultural Student Services). Dirron earned his bachelor’s degree from JMU, completed his master’s degree from Mississippi State University, and received his Doctor of Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dirron has served in different roles at several universities. His career began as a campus recreation facility manager at Temple University. His career transitioned to student leadership and involvement initiatives at Towson University. Prior to arriving at JMU, he served as an Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Student Engagement at the University of Virginia.
