Riley Parker is a Grants Specialist in the Office of Sponsored Programs – Administrative Services at JMU. He supports faculty and staff across the university with proposal and budget development, interpretation of sponsor guidelines and federal regulations, and submission of proposals to external sponsors. Riley also assists with sponsor forms, prior approval requests such as no-cost extensions and budget revisions, and provides support for non-fiscal post-award matters and project closeout. He joined JMU in March 2024.

Riley holds a Master of Science in Research Administration from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication from Washington and Lee University. He earned a Research Law Certificate from the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI) in 2025 and completed JMU’s Team Excellence Certificate Series in 2024. He is also a member of JMU’s Institutional Biosafety Committee.

Outside of JMU, Riley serves as the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Rocktown High School. He is also an avid and accomplished golfer.
